15 Teacher Appreciation Gift Ideas

Teachers are very special people.  Homeschooling my children showed me a little of the amount of work it takes to keep pupils on task and motivated.  However, it wasn't until my children went to our public school that I really realized not only how important their hard work is, but also how important a teacher's temperament, consistency and discipline is as well.  Great Teachers do deserve to be honored.  They greatly influence our children.  I am thankful for the tremendous teachers I have had and for my children's great teachers as well.

May 6-10th is Teacher Appreciation week.  Here is a list of 15 gifts to help show our love to our children's special teachers!

Check out these cute "Polaroid Coasters" by The Love Nerds.  Such a neat idea!

I Dig Pinterest has created these cute little chalkboard chore charts.  These could be used for a variety of ideas for a teacher.  (Those chalkboard pens are great too!)

The First Year Blog shares with us this wonderful homemade recipe for "Nilla Wafers".  YUM!  It might be good to find out about your teacher's diet restrictions first, but food is generally loved.

Do you have a teacher whom you know has a kindle, or an ipad?  Here is a great gift idea put together by It's Always Ruetten.

Five Little Chefs came up with this darling little questionnaire about your teacher.  This can be a gift from just your child, or the whole class could fill one out and give a little booklet to the teacher.  How fun!

What teacher doesn't like jewely?  Here is an easy DIY Bracelet you and your child could make for their teacher.

Sometimes Homemade shows how you can create this adorable Personalized State Wall Art.

Here's another tutorial that is not too difficult and really cute.  What teacher couldn't find a use for a tray like this from Rain on a Tin Roof?

Teacher's don't always get to spend as much time with their families as they might like during the school year.  What better gift then this little Love Frame from Reasons to Skip the Housework.  Teachers can exchange notes with their family letting each other know how special they are.

Another inexpensive and quick craft are these DIY Sisal Coasters.  Put them together with a ribbon and a little thank you card and you have yourself a nice gift.

Do you enjoy sewing?  Here is a cute book-lover pillow to whip up by Raegunwear

Aren't these little magnet photo boards by The Princess and her Cowboys adorable?  I'm sure a teacher could find all kinds of great uses for them.

Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate!!  That stuff is wonderful.  Here is a super sweet recipe from Six Sisters Stuff for homemade Thin Mints.

Teachers can never have enough books.  From Nature to Nurture gives a great list of 20 books every home (or in this case classroom) should have.  A little gift bag with a few of these books would be very special.

Supper time often comes way too quickly for a teacher.  Help your child's teacher save time and money by putting together these Homemade Quick Mixes for her/him.

Well, this list should keep you busy for a little while.  Let's take the time to let our teachers know how special they are to us!
