Felt flower pins

Who doesn't love flowers?  I don't know if you've noticed or not, but flowers are everywhere.  They are made into pins, necklaces, put on hats, purses, etc...  This flower broach is very easy, fun, and quick to make.

Brittany was having a great time making the broaches.

She is going to show us how to make them.

(by the way, she has her own blog at 10growing.blogspot.com
which she would love for you to stop by and take a look at. )

Pin your flower pattern to the felt.
Cut out 5 flowers-unless you fit more than one in the center (Fitting more than one in the center would make your flower more full). You also need to cut out one circle about the size of a nickel that will serve as the center to glue the flowers to.

All cut out.  Now fold the flower in half, and then in half again.

 Cut off the tip.

Put a dab of glue on the bottom where you cut.

We found that as you fold the flower there are two sides.  The flower seemed to look better if you placed the rounded corner towards the inside of the flower, and the one with the double corners toward the outside of the pin.

Place it on the circle.  Do the 4 corners and then in the middle.  Depending on where the four corners end up, you may have room for more than one flower in the center.

Here are the pins we found to put on the back.
They were supposed to be sticky, but they didn't stick very well.

So we chose to hot glue the pins to the flower.

Brittany quote, "It's great, all of the glue is on the back, so if I put too much,
you can't see it from the front."  :0)

Here it is on a sweater.

 On a hat.

And, on a purse...

I first saw this flower pin at the Jones Design Company website
