Birthday Cakes

Well, my middle son's 8th birthday is coming up at the end of the month.  He finally asked for a theme other than puppy!!!  Basketball to be exact.  I guess we are growing up a little around here.

As I was flipping through pictures of past birthday parties, I thought it would be kind of fun to post some of the cakes that I have made in the past.  It was a little humorous that the cakes I made when I only had one child were the most detailed.  Then, some of the ones in the middle were just kind of thrown together quickly the morning of.  Now, as they are getting a little older, and being a little more particular, I am once again trying a little harder.  After all, I don't want them to be embarrassed! :0)

Brittany's first birthday--the only cake I ever made with fondant icing.  We decided it looked pretty, but we really didn't like the taste.

Sorry, had to take this picture from her scrapbook.  I even made her her own cake.  I ended up taking it away from her, because she just kept eating and eating it.  I was afraid she was going to make herself sick.

Brittany's second birthday----she was all about Elmo then.

 Then her third birthday----Nemo!

These are a little more out of order.

Carter's 5th Birthday----hotwheels.

Carter's 1st Birthday----Farm animals

Tyler's 7th---a dog he saw on something he liked.  Don't even remember what......

Brittany's 5th Birthday.   She wanted Sleeping Beauty---but then she wanted to help----therefore all the sprinkles and purple icing on the top....oh well, she had fun!

Carter's 4th birthday.  He wanted a dragon----kind of looks like it, huh?

Well, obviously with my kids being 10, going on 8, and 6 there are more cakes, but I can't seem to find any more pictures.  I guess when I do, that will be another post.
Well, if you have a birthday in your family coming up soon, have fun, and take a picture of the cake!
Feel free to post some cakes that you have made too.  I'd love to see them.
