Here's a little sneak peek at the master bedroom.
Our accent wall. I love it! It looks more or less dramatic depending on the lighting.
We used a egg-shell as the base with a contrast of the same paint color in high gloss for the design.
Somebody is concentrating hard!!
I got this idea from a fellow blogger, Sawdustandembryos.com. I also used the template that she found. Also, just as she mentioned in her post, I only used about 1/3 of the paint I poured into this cup. It definitely doesn't use a lot of paint. I also used the projector, as she did, to project the template onto the wall. Our wall was so large, I had to project it in three different sections, and also added sections to the bottom. From start to finish it took about 6 hours.
Gonna try it too? If you do, be sure to send me some pictures. I'd love to see what room and color you pick!
Just some quick ideas from the comments on her page:
Chalk works better to trace, just wipe it clean when you are done. (Should've done that myself)
You also can use non-yellowing polyurethane in a gloss one step up from your original paint.
UPDATE - Another phase is done in the bedroom! See an update here.
