It was on one of those occasions that I found myself the new owner of her spoon collection.
Over the years I have displayed the spoons on a simple spoon rack that she used. However, it didn't really coincide with the style I wanted. One day I came upon this idea of displaying them in shadow boxes. I can't remember now where I saw it, whether a magazine, or internet, or book, but I loved the idea.
Right now I am only displaying 9 of the spoons. I really didn't want to use any more than three shadow boxes.
I didn't want to damage the spoons in any way, so I didn't want to tack them with any kind of glue, or tape. I ended up using some black stretchy string that I tied right under the head of the spoon, then I pushed a pearl sewing pin through the string and then through the black backing at an angle so that it would hold the spoon in place.
Now, I just need to come up with an idea for all the other spoons, hmmmmm.......................

CUTE! I've been planning a little silverware project of my own!
ReplyDeleteThanks so stopping by my blog too!
Such a lovely collection. I love the display also. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThe next step is to search through the catalogue, just as it would be if you wanted to attend an actual online auction.
