Homemade Pitta Pockets

There is nothing quite like fresh bread.  Growing up in Brazil we would go to the "padaria" or bakery, every afternoon to get our fresh french bread to make our sandwiches for supper.  No matter what meat or cheese you put in it, it was delicious.  Crunchy on the outside, soft and yummy on the inside.

I love trying out new bread recipes.  No meal can go without some little kind of bread.  Even better is when the main dish itself has bread in it!

Pitta Pockets are such a fun easy bread to make.  I found this recipe a couple of years ago, and have been making it ever since.

Just out of the oven

The fun with pittas is that you can fill them with almost anything imaginable.  Some of our favorites are taco meat and cheese (we love this in anything) and cubed chicken, cheese, and broccoli.

Guess what we are having for supper tonight?
